It's been a long time...

It's been almost a month since I added any content to this blog. Where does the time go? How do "real" bloggers do it? They must have - oh, I don't know, a writing schedule, or something like that that helps them keep on top of things... Well, this blog in for my enjoyment anyway, so there's no need to feel obligated to write new entries. I'll write when I want to. So there. :)

My gaming activites continue apace. I'm playing a lot more games now than I was at this time last year, according to my "Games Played" info on BGG. The games of choice lately have been Wizard, a classic trick-taking card game and Category 5 (aka 6 Nimmt!), another light card game. Both games are easy to learn and play and sometimes a light game is all that is really needed. I've also been playing Commands & Colors: Ancients and my current "hot" game is Twilight Struggle.

On the new game front, I've received Here I Stand, the multi-player card-driven game on the Wars of Reformation and Europe Engulfed. I finally had to break down and get Europe Engulfed as it has gone out of print and out of stock at GMT. I know the game will become a collector's item and figured I should get the game now, while discounted prices are available rather than wait until the price has been driven up in the collectors market.

Dan Verssen has come out with a new game in the "Down In Flames" line. This time it's Dragons! Down In Flames moves into the Fantasy relams with this new game about dueling dragons. Down in Flames: Dragons is an interesting idea and it looks like the game system will stretch to fit the new topic nicely. DIF - Dragons! should be an interesting addition to the DIF line of games.
